Fierté Multi-Academy Trust

Our Family of Schools

2022-2023

Family Lunches:

  • Each Friday we invite a different phase to have their family join us for lunch. This is a great opportunity to speak to leaders in the school, enjoy a hot lunch with your child and get to know others in our community.

  • We often have guests from the local community, like our PCSOs and members of our Trust.

Celebration Assemblies:

Friday afternoon is a time to celebrate our successes. Year 6 take the lead in this, with a little bit of help from our senior leaders.

  • Each class shares an aspect of their learning from the week with the rest of the school and our visitors.
  • We celebrate the children who have achieved reading goals with prizes.
  • We celebrate our mathematical achievements on TTRS.
  • We celebrate members of the community who have shown great kindness and have become 'Bucket Fillers'.
  • We celebrate children for overcoming adversity.
  • We celebrate children for showing our school values.
  • We celebrate classes attendance.
  • We celebrate achievements from outside of school.
  • We celebrate our house points.

PCSO Ross and Amber:

  • PCSO Ross and PCSO Amber have joined us for lunch several times this term. It's been great talking to them and finding out what their role os in our community. We know that they are safe adults - who we can talk to.
  • PCSO Ross came to our Celebration assembly, we awarded him with a 'Bucket Filler' certificate because he is so helpful and lets us ask him any questions we want to about the police force and keeping safe in our community.
  • PCSO Ross and a colleague came to every class from Nursery to Year 6 to teach us about firework safety. This was a very informative session, we learnt how to keep safe on bonfire night and at Divali.
  • PCSO Ross and PCSO Amber held a safer Internet session for adults to attend - thank you to those of you who attended. We are hoping to repeat this later in the year and PCSO Ross and Amber will be running a safer Internet session with our children.
  • PCSO Ross shared with us that he is going to start a 'cadets' group at our school after Christmas. We are locking forward to finding out more about this.

Rock-It music showcases:

Each half-term we like to showcase what we've been learning in music and in our singing lessons. We have a fantastic music provision which is run by Rock-It music and our class teachers.

Autumn 1 - Key Stage 1 and EYFS

EYFS and Key Stage 1 treated us to a fantastic display of all their learning. Mr Sullivan made us all laugh and even made the family members and staff join in with a song! It was lovely to see the KS2 children join in with the songs. Mrs O'Gara treated the family members to cake and drinks. We had a fabulous afternoon concert.

Autumn 2 - Key Stage 2

Key Stage 2 wowed us with their fabulous musical abilities - it was great to see the progression in skills from Year 3 to Year 6 and to see how the different pieces of music grew with difficulty. Well done to everyone who played all the different instruments so well. Again, Mr Sullivan wowed us all with his humour, knowledge and ability to make us all join in with different songs. Mrs O'Gara treated the family members to cake and drinks. We had a fabulous afternoon concert.

Spring 1 - Key Stage 1 and EYFS
Spring 2 - Key Stage 2
Summer 1 - Key Stage 1 and EYFS
Summer 2 - Key Stage 2

Rock Steady, Rock concert:

Some children choose to have additional rock lessons and have created different bands. Each week it's lovely to hear them practising with their teacher. Each term, our talented musicians invite their families and the rest of the school to a rock concert to showcase their talents.

Autumn Term -

13th December 2022 - we are really looking forward to seeing the results of the great work these musicians have been doing.

Spring Term -
Summer Term -

Family festive crafting:

This year we have invited family members into school to 'Deck the Halls'. Family members will work with the children to create Christmas and Winter themed decorations to decorate Ankermoor Primary Academy with. These decorations stay up around the school, but can be taken home on the last day of term - so that they can adorn your houses.

Christmas lunches:

This year we have invited family members to join us for Christmas lunch. This has proven to be very popular so we have had to limit numbers to ensure we have enough space in our hall. We have to thank Mrs O'Gara, our fantastic cook for providing us with such a fabulous lunch - over two days. The phase not in Christmas lunch had a picnic in their classrooms and enjoyed lots of festivities with their classes. We look forward to seeing what other special event lunches our children would like over the rest of the year.

Family workshops:

We have arranged a wide range of parent workshops this year. Thank you to all of the parents who have attended them, and we look forward to seeing many more of you in the Future.

Children in Need Pudsey competition:

School council organised a fabulous 'Children in Need' day this year. We had a competition to see who could design the most innovative Pudsey. The whole school dressed in yellow or spots - Miss Holgate wore bright yellow tights and Mrs Bryan was in a full Pudsey style outfit! It was great fun and the school council raised lots of money for Children in Need. Our Pudsey biscuit sale was so popular that we had to repeat it on the Monday. Thank you to everyone who got involved.

Remembrance Day:

This year we joined together as a whole school to be a part of the national assembly for remembrance. It was great to hear stories from veterans and to learn about what remembrance means to other primary school children. In our classrooms we learnt lots about remembrance day and the importance of sharing stories with each other.

Mental Health awareness:

Throughout the year we have several events to profile Mental Health awareness. In Autumn term the whole school focused on the book 'The Colour Monster' and we discussed our emotions and the colours which they represent. If you walk down our main corridor, you'll see some of the work the children have done on their emotions.

Book Sale:

Throughout the year we will have several second hand book sales. The first of these occurred at our initial parents' evenings. We sold lots of second hand books to our families and will continue to do so to ensure that all of our children have access to great, high quality texts. Our children really enjoyed looking through the books on offer and sharing the stories with their families - there were even some favourites available from when parents were at school! It was fabulous to be a part of these conversations with our families around books and reading.
