E-Safety

As a school, we play a key role in promoting internet safety to our children, parents and staff members.  A whole school approach to e-safety can help involve staffs, governors, parents and even the pupils themselves in keeping children and young people safe online.

We currently expose children to a rich Computing and PSHE curriculum that includes teaching the risks of online safety and strategies to keep ourselves safe when searching the internet.  Stand-alone assemblies and helpful posters are also in place to help tackle further issues and promote a safer experience.

Please read our User acceptance policy

Once you have read the policy, please complete this form.   Confirmation of acknowledgement.

We now have 'Digital Leaders' in school who are able to help their peers with any issues or concerns. These problems will then be raised in fortnightly meetings and together the team will work out a solution.  We are currently planning another E-Safety week at Ankermoor after the success of last years.  With this in mind, a whole week will be used to focus on E-safety.  Mr Macdonald and the digital leaders have a plenty of ideas in mind, watch this space.

Y3  Emilie-Ann Williams & Brodie Horton
Y4 Anais Lolley & Joshua Woodward
Y5  Evie Venables & Reece Law
Y6 Cody McCormack & Callum Mortimer-Gardener

Our Digital leaders are also enrolled onto the Duke of York Idea scheme.  This scheme is aimed at children and adults.  The challenge is to complete the badges to earn points towards each award, Bronze and Silver.  Each child has their own log on details so they can complete their badges in their own time.  We are delighted that already we have one child who has achieved their bronze award, Congratulations Callum.  An amazing achievement!
